SoCal Vacation

I can’t believe a month has passed since my last post. I felt like I needed a break. I didn’t have much to post about and I felt like every time I sat down to write it felt forced. I think every blogger goes through that. Now I feel like I have a ton to write about and I’m excited to blog again! Hopefully I still have readers out there ;).

About 2 month ago I mentioned going on vacation to Andy. We haven’t been on a real vacation in a few years so I felt like it was time. I found an unreal deal on flights to California so I booked them! We planned to stay in a few different cities but didn’t have a strict itinerary.

We flew into Orange County, which was a great airport. It was small and easy to get in and out of. We landed at 930 am west coast time, but we were ready for lunch since we were used to east coast time. We got our rental car and headed north up to LA and Hollywood.

We drove through downtown LA and weren’t too impressed. We did the drive by the Hollywood sign and some of the large houses. We then made our way to Venice Beach to grab lunch and check into our hotel. Venice was an interesting place. It was the people that made it an experience! As we were walking down the boardwalk, I was stopped and asked to be interviewed for a Pantene YouTube video. Of course I said yes, free products were involved!

{The video isn’t up yet or else I’d share it! }

The video is up on YouTube! Check it out below:

We also made a stop in Beverly Hills. I had one thing I really wanted to do while we were visiting, get a cupcake from the Sprinkles ATM. It was so cool! I went with the cinnamon sugar, very tasty!

One thing I loved about California, besides the awesome weather, was all the organic options for food. We grabbed burgers at Pono, which offers local grass fed beef and all organic produce. I would love more options like that at home!

We were jet lagged and fell asleep early, like 7 o’clock early. That meant come 2 am we were wide awake! I think our second day of the trip the longest day of our lives, ha!

We spent one more day in the LA area before we headed down to San Diego. The drive wasn’t bad. We broke it up by stopping in Laguna Beach (being that I LOVED that show we had to stop). We grabbed lunch and did some shopping.

San Diego was a blast! We did so much! We had to check out the zoo. Spent a day at Balboa Park. Watched the sunset from Coronado Beach. Checked out the seals in La Jolla. We ate at some fun restaurants and just enjoyed being away.

Our last stop was Long Beach. It was more of a low key spot. It was perfect after running around the past 6 days.

We had a great time! I could have included so many more details but this post would have went on forever. If you are looking for a new vacation spot I would recommend SoCal. I can see why people love it!

Have you ever been to California? What’s your favorite city?
