All Things Mini ::Baby Shower

On Saturday, My friend Jocelyn and I hosted a shower for my cousin Kristen. Way back in February when Kristen and her husband Tony told us they were expecting J & I immediately started brainstorming shower ideas. We both love throwing parties so it was really fun to plan with her. We decided the “theme” would be all things mini. I’m so happy with how everything turned out!

Here is the dessert bar we set up.

cupcakes

The soon to be mama only had one request, my famous cupcakes! I haven’t been baking as much as I want to so I was happy to make these. dessert2

Jocelyn found these cute jars at Home Goods. We filled them with Kristen’s favorites.

drinks

We also set up a drink station that included raspberry lemonade and white sangria. I got the idea for the cups on Pinterest. I ordered the tape from WishyWashi . flowers

Something else I enjoy doing but don’t do often is floral arranging. We picked up flowers during our Trader Joe’s stop. Their flowers always look fresh!  food1

Here is the food spread. We had about 30-35 people at the shower and had exactly enough food. We got everything from Trader Joe’s.We bought three frozen pizzas, two packs of chicken egg rolls, one baguette, mozzarella cheese, and marinara sauce.

Jocelyn made these adorable veggie cups.  grilledcheese

When we decided on mini foods I immediately went to Pinterest and found all sorts of ideas. I came up with these mini grilled cheese bites. I just toasted a baguette with a little EVOO and mozzarella cheese in the oven for about ten minutes and put them in cups with the marinara. These were a hit!

gift Thanks to Kate Spade and their 75% off sale, a few of us were able to chip in and get Kristen this gorgeous baby bag. I liked how it looked like a purse. I think she was truly surprised.

Of course, I forgot to snap a picture on my camera of the three of us. Kristen took one but hasn’t posted it yet for me to steal ;). I had so much fun planning and throwing this party! We played two games which helped everyone socialize. One was the clothes pin game where you can’t say baby. The other was one to help Kristin with names for the baby. I created a list A-Z and everyone had to write a name for each letter. We had a two minute time limit. It was fun to see what names people came up with.

I have a bridal shower to host a little later summer. I’m already brainstorming ideas for that party!
