Marathon Training {week 10}

32 miles, not too bad of a week!

Monday:  I started my run with some hills which wasn’t such a good idea. My legs were still feeling pretty sore from Saturdays race. So I changed it up and ran around parts of my neighborhood that were flat. I was happy to get 8 miles in.

Tuesday:  Circuit training class. We did 12 exercises in a 30 minute AMRAP (as many rounds as possible). I ended up getting 5 rounds in. The finisher was a tough, but good, one- 400m run, 10 burpees, 10 full sit ups, 10 step ups with push up. Always a good class!

Wednesday: We had intervals downtown at the same spot as a few weeks ago. We stayed more on pace this week. I think my legs were still feeling a little worn out. But, I got it done!

Oops! I hit the lap button instead of stop at the end!

Thursday: Again, I went to circuit training. I love going to these classes because every class is different. This time we focused a lot on our arms and abs. We did many of the exercises on the TRX. When your arms feel like jello at the end of a workout you know it was a good one!

Friday: I took a well wanted and needed rest day.

Saturday: I had been looking forward all week to this long run! The weather was beautiful and the sun was shining.  I remember last year feeling how hard those runs over 13.1 felt. This year is a total different story, I feel good during these runs. Despite the giant hill at mile 6 I felt really relaxed and  comfortable. I drove through Starbucks afterwards and the barista asked if I just finished up running, which I said yes. He went on to tell me I looked refreshed. It was quite nice to hear that since that is exactly how I was feeling!

 Sunday: A friend and I went to an opening of a new yoga studio that was offering free classes all weekend. It was a flow class that had live music. The studio was really interesting. The lights in the room would change colors and they had inspirational words on the ceiling. The location isn’t close to home for me so I won’t be going their regularly but I may pop in for another class sometime!
